Overview

 

In order to ensure the rigor and fairness of pearl identification and grading, after long-term market observation and research, we have developed our own independent laboratory standard light source identification equipment, referencing the internationally recognized and highly market-share-dominant diamond color grading standard system, to establish a rigorous and fair pearl color grading system.

Equipment

The equipment utilizes fluorescent lamp-assisted LED lighting systems, which can accurately simulate daytime standard lighting environments, minimizing and eliminating environmental color interference to the greatest extent possible. This provides a comprehensively calibrated standard light source environment for the pearl color grading system, emphasizing and displaying the brightness, orient, and balance of overtones of pearls.

Color

In our pearl color grading system, pearls are divided into two parts to determine the color:

 

bodycolor and overtone.

bodycolor: The color of the pearl's nacre itself. 

overtone: Colors other than the bodycolor due to optical effects such as reflection, refraction, and interference of the nacre, as well as the influence of chemical substances and trace elements in the growth environment. 

Peacock green

According to GIA's definition of the color range for peacock green, we consider the body color with a hue that contains green, of mid-to-strong saturation and mid-to-dark tone, and with moderate or stronger overtone (usually pink, but may be other hues) or orient as peacock green.
